About Mapbelt
Mapbelt is a free set of small GIS tools that run in your web browser: view and inspect GeoTIFFs, crop and reproject them, make footprints and bounding boxes, plan tile coverage, and read radar and satellite imagery. It is built and run by Space From Space.
What it does and does not do
- The tools read the files you choose in your browser. Results are written back to your device.
- Some tools contact a service you ask for: map tiles from OpenStreetMap or Esri, Microsoft's public Planetary Computer catalogue for Sentinel-2 imagery, and place search through OpenStreetMap Nominatim. The guide lists each one.
- Google Analytics is switched on only if you accept it in the banner, and it records which tools are used, never your files or what you type.
- Signing in, where it is offered, is provided by Clerk and loads only when you press Sign in.

If a security product warns about this site
